Worldwide Evangelism was founded January 17, 1956 by one of the world’s leading missionary statesmen, Morris Plotts, known throughout the body of Christ for his vision and commitment to the world of evangelization.

In 1971 Brother Morris Plotts met with Rev. W. S. McMasters, Rev. Howard Holton, and Rev. Kemp C. Holden, Jr. indicating his desire to broaden the base of W.E. and make it a fellowship that would serve the entire body of Christ. From that time W.E. has broadened its base and served many ministers and has provided a catalyst in bringing mission projects, missionaries, and mission-minded ministers together in the building of many churches, Bible schools, and training seminars for national leaders overseas.
